Tenderloin Filet: A classy option for the most tender cut of beef you can have!
- Recommended cooking technique: Grill, cast iron pan or reverse sear.
- Cooking Time: Sear each side of the steak for 3-4 minutes, depending on thickness. Rest for at least 5 minutes on a cutting board or servicing plate.
- Seasoning suggestions: Simple salt and pepper or your favorite steak rub.
How to cook the perfect filet:
- Preheat your grill or cast-iron pan to medium-high heat.
- Season your steaks liberally on both sides with salt and pepper, about 2 tsp of coarse kosher salt to 1 tsp of fresh cracked black pepper.
- Sear steaks on side 1 for 3-4 minutes to create a crust! Don't move the steak around as this happens; trust the process.
- Flip the steak and sear on side 2 for an additional 3-4 minutes or until your desired doneness is reached.
- Use an internal temp thermometer to read 125 degrees for medium rare.
- Pull steaks aside and rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing into them.
